Sands Bulk Transport is committed to providing a safe and healthy working environment. Our practices are designed to protect the health and safety of all individuals affected by our activities, including our employees, contractors and the public.
Sands Bulk mitigates impacts on the environment by working with our stakeholders, peers and others to promote responsible environmental practices and continuous improvement. We recognize that pollution prevention, biodiversity and resource conservation are key elements of a sustainable environment, and effectively integrate these concepts into our business decision making.
Sands Bulk promotes a positive safety culture with all levels of management and supervisors held accountable for providing a safe work environment and enforcing all safe work practices.
We work with our drivers in the field to continuously improve our business practices, and gather information from other leading edge companies in the industry North America wide.
Technology is also part of the safety strategy. Onboard tracking systems are currently being installed in all units so that drivers can be monitored and rewarded for good driving habits. As well, these devices make two way communications possible anywhere that product is delivered.
Training is an integral part of the safety management system. Drivers are put through an extensive training program for solid driving practices, risk assessment and control training. First aid training is offered to all employees at Sands Bulk.
Our health and safety program exceeds all provincial and federal standards. Sands Bulk Transport is ISNetworld Certified and is working toward COR certification with the BC Forest Safety Council.
